While cleaning up the breakfast dishes my 18 y/o cat Lucy rushed the window and started talking to it. From my vantage point I couldn’t see what had gotten her complete attention, so I stopped to investigate. Her attention has waned as she has aged and mostly she sleeps….talking to the window got my attention.
Currently we are enjoying the Sun in Arizona in our 5th wheel. The back window, while large, has a brace horizontally through it. Upon investigation I discovered the small hummingbird resting on the bike rack.
He sat below the feeder long enough for me to get my camera and take several photos. Most of them were out of focus…even with zoom, he is that small. This photo represents one of two that were in focus…the shadow doesn’t allow for the beauty of his purple crown of head feathers, or how truly tiny he is. He visits us daily…as do the swarm of honey bees that visit our feeder along with a rather large Flicker just last week.
Hummingbirds and bees…all goodness in a small window/moment of time.
